I'm Made Suarsana, though nobody in Uluwatu has called me that since I was about fifteen. I was born in Pecatu, the village five minutes from Suluban Beach, and I still live there — now with my wife Kadek and our two kids, about ten minutes from the house I grew up in.

Not from the job. Long before BUGORIDE existed, I was the guy every visiting surfer's friend called when they needed a scooter, a lift to the airport, or someone to fix a flat tire at 6am before dawn patrol. Friends started calling me Bugo — it stuck for over a decade before the company that shares the name ever launched. When BUGORIDE needed someone local who already had the trust of the neighborhood — the warung owners, the beach club staff, the guys who run the parking lots at Padang Padang — they came to me. My actual title is Local Operations Lead. Everyone, including my own team, still just calls me Bugo.
